Money
and communications: The airport has banking and bureau
de change facilities, and ATMs are available in Terminal 2 in
both the Arrivals and Departures areas. Aerosot provides fax
services, international telephones and photocopying. There are
post offices in both terminals,
Eating and drinking: There are restaurants and bars in both
terminals.
Shopping: Shops at the airport include duty free.
Luggage: Left luggage counters are located in Terminal 2.
Other facilities: The airport has a pharmacy and a medical
office
The airport does not offer many facilities for the disabled traveller although wheelchair transfer from the aircraft to the terminal building can be arranged in advance.
The airport has a 24-hour business centre in Terminal 2 (tel: (0)95 578 7252) which can provide telephone and fax facilities. The Novotel Hotel (tel: (0)95 578 9401 or 926 5900) has meeting rooms for up to 380 people.
Car hire companies include Avis , National , Hertz and Budget .
Short-term parking facilities are available close to both terminals.
From Moscow, take the M-95 motorway northbound. Exits 817 and 851 serve the airport (journey time: approximately 40 minutes).
Road:
Taxi: Taxis are probably the simplest and safest way to get to the city apart
from hotel courtesy vans; however, they are the most expensive. Taxis to
Moscow are available 24 hours a day from the Arrivals level of Terminal 2
and from outside Terminal 1. There is also the Autoline fixed-route taxi
and Airbus service, which departs every 20 minutes. Bus: Regular express
buses run 24 hours a day to Moscow from bus stops outside Terminal 1 and
a bus station on the arrivals level of Terminal 2. Local bus 551 goes to
metro Rechnoi Vokzal and bus 517 goes to metro Planernaya (journey time:
45 minutes by bus, then 30 minutes by metro to the centre). Coach: Coaches
run between the airport and Moscow Central Air Terminal (journey time: 50
minutes)
There are two hotels at Terminal 2: the Novotel (tel: (0)95 578 9401 or 926 5900), which offers a free shuttle transfer from Terminal 1, and the Sheremetyevo-2 Hotel (tel: (0)95 578 5753). A hotel reservations desk is also available at the airport (tel: (0)95 967 8102). Moscow hotels include the Holiday Inn , Le Meridien , Marriott , Radisson , Sheraton and Sofitel .
