TOURIST INFORMATION

Information desks can be found in Departures, Arrivals and at the Düsseldorf Airport Rail Station. The main information desk is located next to belt 6 in central Arrivals. Passengers can also phone the airport for information (tel: (0)211 4210).

AIRPORT FACILITIES

Money and communications: Two branches of the Reisebank are located on the Departures level in the Airport Arcades . There is also a Sparkasse bank on the Arrivals level just outside the terminal.
Eating and drinking: There are many restaurants at the airport.
Shopping: Around 40 shops can be found in the Airport Arcades, located in the public area of the newly expanded main terminal. Shops are open from early morning until late at night, seven days a week.
Other facilities: The airport has first aid facilities and a meeting point in central Arrivals

SERVICE TO PASSENGERS WITH DISABILITIES

The airport provides physically accessible facilities for disabled passengers, with the exception of the duty-free shop; wheelchairs are available on request. Passengers with disabilities are requested to inform their airline in advance of their requirements. Drivers displaying disability ID can park in any car park for free (shuttle buses have low wheelbases), but are recommended to use car parks 2, 3 or 14.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES

There is a conference centre (tel: (0)211 4216 8310) in the terminal with 24 conference rooms which can hold up to 250 people. The Arabella Sheraton Airport Hotel (tel: (0)211 421 7701) also offers conference rooms for up to 230 people.

CAR RENTAL

Car hire companies include Avis , Europcar , Hertz , National and Sixt . Car hire desks are located in the central Arrivals hall.

CAR PARKING

There are numerous car parks available with direct access to the terminals, but reservations for long-term parking are limited to the security-monitored spaces located in car park 3 (tel: (0)211 421 6637). There is a shuttle bus from car park 4 to the terminals.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

The A44 autobahn (motorway) runs east - west past the airport with a dedicated exit, signed Flughafen. The A44 connects to the A52 north and the A3 north - south.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Road:
Taxi: Taxis leave from in front of central Arrivals. Bus: The bus station is located in front of the travel agency centre. Lines 760 and 072 run regularly to central Düsseldorf, line 727 to Düsseldorf main rail station, and the Airport Aixpress runs to Aachen bus station. Special services are laid on during trade fairs
