Number of Terminals: 2 (plus a new concourse that opened in
early 2000). The second phase of the airport expansion programme will begin in
2003 involving the construction of Terminal 3 and another concourse, both exclusively
for Emirates.
Transfer Between Terminals: Transfer between the terminals takes
ten minutes using the airport shuttle service. The new concourse is linked to
Terminal 1 (Sheikh Rashid Terminal) via a tunnel with travelators. Terminal 2
is used exclusively for business and charter flights.

TOURIST INFORMATION
There is a 24-hour Airport
Welcome Bureau desk in Terminal 1 Arrivals (tel: (0)4 206 2032)
and screens display flight information in various languages. Two
information booths are located on the Departures level of the concourse,
opposite the Food Court and opposite gate 19. |
AIRPORT FACILITIES
Money and communications: The
airport has banking services and ATMs in both terminals, with some
automated bureau de change facilities. The Departures concourse
has bureau de change facilities and a post office.
Eating and drinking: There are restaurants, cafés
and a bar in the Departures lounge. The Food Court is located on the Departures
level between gates 13 and 15 and the main restaurant, offering international
cuisine, is situated between gates 19 and 17.
Shopping: There is comprehensive duty-free shopping at the
airport.
Other facilities: There is a 24-hour medical centre, first
aid posts, a supervised children's play area, quiet lounges and a health club
with swimming pool, spa and a fully equipped gym

DRIVING DIRECTIONS
The Airport Road runs
directly southeast from Dubai city centre on the east side of The
Creek (Al-Khor). From locations south of Dubai, cross Al-Khor at
Al-Garhoud Bridge and drive north, then turn right at the intersection
with Airport Road. |
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Road:
Taxi: Prepaid taxis to the city centre are available 24 hours a day. Limousine:
Limousines can be arranged in the Arrivals hall. The journey time to the
city centre is about ten minutes. Bus: A bus service runs to the city centre
every ten minutes 0600-2200

22 44 000). A 24-hour hotel reservations desk is also available
in Arrivals. The Airport Hotel is a five minute drive
