Transfer Between Terminals: There is internal access between the Domestic and International Terminals and there are domestic transfer check-in counters in the International Arrivals hall. The Domestic Terminal is open 0730-2030, whilst the International Terminal is open for all international flight arrivals and departures.

TOURIST INFORMATION

Travel and information centres are located in the Domestic Terminal and International Arrivals lounge. In addition to providing information and bookings for local accommodation and sightseeing tours, the staff now operate a full travel agency service and can cater for any further international or domestic travel and holiday arrangements. CAR RENTAL

Car hire companies are located in the International and Domestic Terminals. Avis (tel: (0)3 358 0644), Budget (tel: (0)3 358 7488), Hertz (tel: (0)3 342 8665), Thrifty (tel: (0)3 374 2357) and Maui (tel: (0)3 358 9888) are all represented, although Maui is located in the International Terminal only.

CAR PARKING

Short-term and long-term car parking spaces are located immediately in front of the terminal building, from where hire cars can also be collected.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

On leaving the airport travellers should go straight over the roundabout and continue along Memorial Avenue into Fendalton Avenue. At Hagley Park, which is located at the end of Fendalton Avenue, travellers should turn right into Harper Avenue. Then drive straight on from Harper Avenue into Bealey Avenue and continue until Columbo Street. At Columbo Street turn right and continue to reach Cathedral Square in the heart of Christchurch.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Taxi: Taxis are available to the city centre (journey time: 15-20 minutes). Bus: A public bus service runs every half hour (journey time: 30-40 minutes); shuttle buses can be shared and take travellers to their accommodation. Transport to Christchurch city centre is available outside the domestic and international areas of the terminal buildings

AIRPORT HOTELS

The Grand Chancellor Sudima Hotel (tel: (0)3 358 3139) is a five-minute walk from the terminal building; there are also several other hotels available a few minutes from the airport. Staff at the airport travel and information centre can provide assistance with bookings and offer recommendations to suit travellers' needs and budget.
