Transfer Between Terminals: A free Cairo Airport Authority shuttle bus links the two terminals, which are approximately 3km (1.9 miles) apart. The bus runs throughout the night and departs approximately every 30 minutes. Terminal 1 is known as the Old Airport, whilst Terminal 2 is known as the New Airport.

TOURIST INFORMATION

Information desks are located in both Terminal 1 (Old Airport) and Terminal 2 (New Airport), in the Arrivals and Departures halls and in the transit area. Flight information (tel: (0)2 634 8566 or 633 6959) is available 24 hours a day.

AIRPORT FACILITIES

Money and communications: The airport has a bank and ATMs. 24-hour bureaux de change and post offices are located in the Departures hall in both terminals. The post office is also open 24 hours a day.
Eating and drinking: There are numerous restaurants at the airport. Bars are located in the Departures halls of both terminals and are open 24 hours a day
Shopping: Shops, including gift shops, clothes shops, bookshops and newsagents, are located in the Departures halls in both terminals. Duty-free shops are available on arrival and departure in both terminals.
Luggage: Baggage trolleys and porters are available. Left luggage facilities can be found in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Other facilities: A pharmacy is located in the Departures hall in Terminals 1 and 2

SERVICE TO PASSENGERS WITH DISABILITIES

Wheelchairs are available on request and there are disabled toilets. Disabled passengers should contact their airline for assistance. There are no reserved car parking spaces for disabled drivers.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES

The airport does not have conference and business facilities. However a business centre is planned for Terminal 1. Business facilities and meeting rooms are available in the Novotel Cairo Airport Hotel (tel: (0)2 918 520).

CAR RENTAL

Car hire companies include Avis (tel: (0)2 652 429), Budget (tel: (0)2 652 395), Europcar (tel: (0)3 035 630), Hertz (tel: (0)2 652 430) and Thrifty (tel: (0)2 652 620).

CAR PARKING

Short-term car parking is available for approximately 1000 cars and is located within walking distance of the terminal buildings.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

The airport can be reached from Cairo city centre, across the 6th October Bridge, via Salah Salem Road which leads to Heliopolis. The airport and Heliopolis are well signposted from the city centre.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Road:
Taxi: Black and white taxis are available from the airport to central Cairo. They leave from outside the Arrivals hall. Limousine: Limousines are available from the airport to central Cairo. Black Mercedes limousines leave from outside the Arrivals hall. Bus: Buses are available from the airport to central Cairo. An airport bus service operates from Terminal 1 (Old Airport). Bus no. 400 leaves approximately every 30 minutes during the day and approximately every hour at night

The Novotel Cairo Airport Hotel (tel: (0)2 918 520) is located 3km (1.9 miles) from the airport. Other hotels in the vicinity include Le Meridien Heliopolis (tel: (0)2 905 055), Sheraton Hotel Heliopolis (tel: (0)2 677 730) and Movenpick Cairo (tel: (0)6 370 077). Complimentary shuttle buses run from the airport to all major hotels.
