Other facilities: There is also a nursery. Note: Most airport services (including public transport) are reduced on the Shabbat 1700-1700 Friday-Saturday and during public holidays

SERVICE TO PASSENGERS WITH DISABILITIES

Lifts and vehicle transportation to the aircraft are available for disabled passengers, who should contact their airline in advance.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES

The VIP Mezada lounge (tel: (0)3 971 2266) is available for general use, with fax and Internet facilities for hire. Passengers with Israel's El Al airline can use the King David Lounge (tel: (0)3 971 6892), while passengers with all other airlines have access to the Jet Set Club Lounge (tel: (0)3 971 2302 or 973 1659 or 973 1658) for a small charge.

CAR RENTAL

Avis (tel: (0)3 977 3208), Budget (tel: (0)3 971 1505), Eldan (tel: (0)3 977 3400), Hertz (tel: (0)3 977 2444), National (tel: (0)3 977 3400), Europcar (tel: (0)3 977 2815) and Thrifty (tel: (0)3 977 3500) are all represented.

CAR PARKING

There is a short-term car park at the entrance to the terminals. Long-term parking is provided at the entrance to the airport grounds. No reservation is required. Any cars parked in a no-park zone will be towed away and the owner fined. There is an automatic answering service in English on parking and transportation (tel: (0)3 972 3339).

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

The airport lies on Route no. 1 which links Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Road:
Taxi: Taxis are located near the airport reception hall. The Nesher Company (tel: (0)2 625 3233) runs a shared taxi service between the airport and Jerusalem, charging a fixed rate per passenger. Amal Company (tel: (0)4 866 2324) operates a similar service to Haifa. Hadar-Lod Taxis operate to all destinations and Amal operate a shared taxi service to Haifa and the Krayot. Bus: Buses to Jerusalem and Haifa on routes nos. 405 (direct), 423, 945 and 947 leave the airport every 30 minutes, 0530-2300 (journey time: approximately 45 minutes); buses are operated by the Egged Co-operative (tel: (0)3 694 8888) and the stops are located in the central piazza of the airport opposite car park 1; tickets can be bought on the bus. Bus no. 475 to Tel Aviv leaves about every ten minutes and goes to the central bus station (journey time: 30-45 minutes). Tourbus operates a bus service to the main hotels along the seafront at Tel Aviv. Bus no. 222 goes to El Al City terminal at the central railway station before stopping at all major seaside hotels 0400-0000

AIRPORT HOTELS

There are no hotels at the airport. The nearest is the Avia Hotel (tel: (0)3 539 3333) which is a 10-minute drive away. Guests who make a reservation through the tourist desk (tel: (0)3 971 1485) at the airport may take the free shuttle bus to the hotel.
