AIRPORT FACILITIES
Money and communications: There
is a bureau de change and several ATMs. There are also postal facilities
and telephones.
Eating and drinking: A full range of food outlets are located
in the food court on the Departures concourse. International passengers can
also eat in the new café/bar located on the International pier.
Shopping: The shopping area on the Departures concourse is
dominated by a newsagents/bookshop. There are also a selection of gift shops
in this area including a shop selling Irish gifts and a clothing accessories
shop. There is also a duty and tax-free shop which can be accessed by all passengers
irrespective of destination. There is also a book shop in Arrivals.
Other facilities: There is a children's play area and a mother
and baby room in the Departures area. Other facilities include a travel agency,
a video games area, a photo booth and a viewing gallery

SERVICE TO PASSENGERS WITH DISABILITIES
Wheelchairs are available
from individual airlines, as well as from airport staff. Passengers
are however advised to book a wheelchair in advance when purchasing
a ticket. Disabled toilets and telephones are also available. Two
minicom units for hearing-impaired travellers are located at the
information desk and switchboard. Disabled car parking is available
in the airport car parks and lifts can transport passengers to
other levels. There are low level kerbs at entrances and exits
to the terminal, as well as low level telephones in the terminal
building. Staff at the airport information desk are trained in
basic sign language. |
CONFERENCE FACILITIES
British Airways and bmi British Midland
maintain dedicated executive lounge facilities in their Departure
lounges for use by their respective executive club members. bmi
British Midland business class passengers can also use the airlines
new Diamond Euroclass lounge. A newly-installed advanced ticket
and boarding system means that British Airways business passengers
can use the BA self-service check-in machines, located to the left
hand side of the check-in hall. In addition, BA Executive Club
passengers can have their seat pre-assigned by telephone check-in
from 1500 onwards on the day before travel. |

CAR PARKING
Car parks are situated
within walking distance of the passenger terminal and are open
24 hours a day. The airport has a short-term, a main-term and a
holiday car park. The short-term car park is located closest to
the terminal entrance and allows passengers free parking for the
first 10 minutes of their stay. The main-term car park is recommended
for business travellers and for those travelling away for a few
days. The holiday car park is recommended for people travelling
for more than four days. All car parks have disabled spaces available
and porters are available to provide assistance. A 'Pay on Foot'
system is in operation and payment machines are available in the
terminal exit hall, opposite the terminal entrance and in each
car park. Passengers should take a ticket from the automated machine
on arrival and insert it into the payment machines on departure.
Machines accept all Bank of England and Northern Ireland bank notes,
except Northern Bank plastic notes. Travellers can also avail of
ticketless parking by using a credit card. They can insert the
credit card into the automated machine on arrival at the car park.
They should then insert the same credit card on exiting the car
park and the correct amount for their stay will be debited from
their account. |
DRIVING DIRECTIONS
From Belfast, the airport
can be reached by travelling north on the M2 motorway, and then
turning off at junction 5. The airport is situated off the A57,
7 miles from junction 5. Travellers from the south and west can
reach the airport by taking the Moira junction on the Ml motorway,
then the A26 and Nutts Corner junction. |
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Rail:
Train: The nearest railway station is 10km (6 miles) from the airport in Antrim,
and connects to Belfast, Lisburn and Londonderry. There is a timetable on
display outside the terminal; in addition, details can be obtained by asking
information desk staff.
Road:
Taxi: Taxis leave from outside the terminal building and are approved by the
Airport Authority. Fares are available from the information desk, as well as
from the destination list posted outside the terminal. Bus: An AIRBUS (tel: (0)289
033 3000) service operates seven days a week between the airport and Belfast
City Centre. Travelling to the airport, the bus departs from Great Victoria Street
Bus and Rail Station every thirty minutes Monday to Saturday and every sixty
minutes on Sunday. Travelling from the airport, the bus departs from the front
of the terminal building. Antrim Bus and Rail Station offers connections to Belfast,
Lisburn and Londonderry. It is serviced by an hourly bus link called the Antrim
Airlink. Coach: For passengers wanting to travel to/from the North West, a Derry
Direct service operated by Airporter is also available. Fares and timetable information

The Fitzwilliam International Hotel (tel:
(0)28 9442 2033) is situated within walking distance of the main
passenger terminal. The hotel is air-conditioned and has a number
of restaurants and bars. It also has a conference room, a fitness
suite and sauna, a patio and car parking facilities. Details of

a five minute drive of the airport include the Dunadry Hotel ,
