Schiphol information desks

Schiphol Plaza, Arrivals 2 and 3 and behind passport control in
Lounge 2 and Lounge 3. Information maps can be found at passport
control and at the entrance to the piers; flight information can

AIRPORT FACILITIES
Money
and communications: There are numerous banks which
also offer VAT reclaim facilities; there are also ATMs available
24 hours a day. The main bureau de change at the airport is open
0300-2330, although there are others with shorter opening hours.
There is a post office in Lounge 2, postboxes around the terminal,
fax machines on various piers and mobile telephone rental at
the Arrivals 1 information desk.
Eating and drinking: There are several restaurants, bars
and cafés.
Shopping: There are numerous shops on both sides of immigration,
plus duty-free shopping.
Other facilities: The airport has a 24-hour medical centre
and a pharmacy. Shower facilities and saunas can be found at the terminal hotel.
There is also a casino after immigration

SERVICE TO PASSENGERS WITH DISABILITIES
Assistance for disabled
travellers is provided either by airlines or by IHD Schiphol Service
(tel: (0)20 316 1417), which can also help with foreign language
information services. TDD telephones are also available at information
desks. There is a lift between the airport and train platforms
and disabled parking is available in car parks P1, P2 and P3. The
car parks have lowered-kerb edges and a bus is available on request
(tel: (0)20 316 1417) from car park P3 to take disabled passengers
to the terminal. Passengers should phone at least 24 hours in advance.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES
The Business Centre has offices to
rent with fax, personal computer and telephone facilities, as well
as a secretarial service if required. There are also conference
rooms after passport control (tel: (0)20 653 2480; fax: (0)20 653
2566) with extensive telecommunications equipment, open 0830-1730
Monday to Friday. Computers, printers and mobile telephones can
be rented from KPN Telecom Rentcentre (tel: (0)20 653 0999; fax:
(0)20 653 0998), which is open 0700-2200, and is located in the
publicly-accessible Schiphol Plaza. The recently-opened Communications
Centre in the Lounge 2 provides passengers with Internet facilities,
mini-offices, a post office and a telephone centre. Major airlines
have executive lounges, which offer some business facilities. |

located in Schiphol Plaza and include Avis , Budget , Europcar , Hertz , National/Alamo and Sixt . |
CAR PARKING
There are two short-term
parking garages, both connected to the terminal and Schiphol Plaza
by covered walkways. Long-term parking is available in an open-air
car park 4km (2.5 miles) from the terminal. A free 24-hour shuttle
bus leaves for the terminal every ten minutes. |

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
lies on the E19, 15km (9 miles) from Amsterdam. The airport is
close to the A4 motorway linking Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam. |

Train: There is a railway station in the terminal's central plaza; direct trains
run to Amsterdam Centraal Station every 15 minutes 0600-2400 and every hour
through the night (journey time: 20 minutes). There is also a direct link
between Schiphol and Amsterdam's RAI Congress Centre, with trains running
every 15 minutes 0525-0010. The reservation-only, high-speed Thalys train
serves Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Brussels and Paris and has
facilities for disabled travellers.

Taxi: Taxis are available from outside the Arrivals hall (journey time into Amsterdam:
approximately 15 minutes). Bus: Public buses run regularly to Amsterdam and other
cities. KLM operates a blue shuttle bus service to the city centre 0600-2300,
